Envelope punch board notecard box

Here is a great use for your new envelope punch  board.  I started with a 9x9 piece of white card stock to make a perfect fit box for a notecard set.  This box holds four cards and envelopes, or up to eight MD cards (without embellishments).  You are going to make the box in the same way you make an envelope.

Here are the easy directions:
1.With your 9x9 square, score at 3.5 and 4.5 inches.  Punch both times.
2. Flip the box 180 degrees and repeat.
3. Now, line up the first score mark on the score guide (not the ruler).  Punch and score for both lines.
4. Do this for the remaining side.  I found it easier to fill my box before securing it closed with sticky strip.
5. Add a cute belly band and embellish as desired!

More fun with washi

I ordered the washi tape bundle from Stampin up! , and after looking at the included pdf's and all the neat projects, I could hardly wait to get started.  So I ran out and stocked up on a few rolls to tide me over until my washi arrived.  So these cards use both SU and non- SU washi but they are all easy and fun to make!!

New flower shop set

Our new catalog is in full swing, and I have lots of samples to share with you. Here are two from a new stamp set called flower shop and it has a cordinating blossom punch to go with it!  You can find the stamp set on page 94 of our new catalog and the punch, called pansy, is on page 183.

There are 16 fantastic stampers in my swap group, and so far 10 of the cards have rolled in using this new blue color called coastal Cabana.  It's sort of a "tiffany" blue and is really going to be popular!

(New alphabet embossing folder!)

Here Yvette combined Coastal Cabana with another new, In Color, called Brown Sugar.  (By the way, she made the square using just the clear block!).

Twist and fold gift card holder

I've seen these cute gift card holders all over the web, and thought it would be great to use for graduation and weddings this time of year.  Here are a few I made for our Irish dance school to use in an upcoming event.  Each holder uses one half sheet of card stock, cut the long way.  Score down the middle diagonally and fold towards the top.  Then bring the outside edges together like a regular card.  You should have a pocket on the front and a pocket on the inside as well.

Sweet card

Here is a thank you card I made with the new gingham garden paper. At first, it seemed kind of plain, but the more I look at it, the more I like it. It's a very sweet and simple card. I used melon mambo and daffodil delight as the accents and two rhinestones add just a little bit of bling.

MDS candy bars

Have you downloaded the free trial for mds yet?  It's a super powerful program that will let you do so much more than just make digital albums.  I do all my photo and graphics work it, to include blog headers, teacher gifts, and much, much more.  You can find it, along with freebies, inspiration and weekly new downloads at www.mydigitalstudio.net.

In fact, my son came to me at 9:15 pm the other night, asking if he could go out to get two teacher appreciation cards for his National Honor Society obligation (due by 7am of course!!). I've been told I have an entire craft store in my basement, and you should have seen the look on his face when I told him he had to go downstairs and make them instead!  Now, my children are expected to stamp cards for me twice a year- my birthday and mother's day.  After all, stamping and Stampin' UP! took them to Alaska, the Western Caribbean and through the Panama Canal not so very long ago...and I'm proud to say that my boys are pretty good about layering, using a paper trimmer, and choosing any color of ink but black for that one floral stamp <wink>...but Jake had no desire to do that for the teachers!  So I laughed, and explained he could do it on the computer with MDS of course!

We quickly found the file I had used with his school colors and mascot and he altered it a bit and printed them out.  As he glued them to a white card, I told him I'd just saved him $10!!!  He agreed, and decided his cards were actually better than anything he could have found at the store!  Wow!! And here are his cards.  So I say, if a 17 year old boy can, so can you!!  Give MDS a try today.

In addition, lately my volunteering for the high school has been as a "treat maker" for the kids in the advanced program both my sons are in.  Anyway, a little tweaking of my MDS files (I just keep hitting "insert duplicate page" and create my next project and keep them all as parts of the same file.  Last night, I created these covered Hershey bars.  I used one quarter sheet of copy paper for each one, and glued the "labels" I printed 8 at a time.  Quick, cute, and cheap!!  (and they are for teens, who really could care less...they just want the chocolate!)
