Twist and fold gift card holder

I've seen these cute gift card holders all over the web, and thought it would be great to use for graduation and weddings this time of year.  Here are a few I made for our Irish dance school to use in an upcoming event.  Each holder uses one half sheet of card stock, cut the long way.  Score down the middle diagonally and fold towards the top.  Then bring the outside edges together like a regular card.  You should have a pocket on the front and a pocket on the inside as well.

Sweet card

Here is a thank you card I made with the new gingham garden paper. At first, it seemed kind of plain, but the more I look at it, the more I like it. It's a very sweet and simple card. I used melon mambo and daffodil delight as the accents and two rhinestones add just a little bit of bling.

MDS candy bars

Have you downloaded the free trial for mds yet?  It's a super powerful program that will let you do so much more than just make digital albums.  I do all my photo and graphics work it, to include blog headers, teacher gifts, and much, much more.  You can find it, along with freebies, inspiration and weekly new downloads at

In fact, my son came to me at 9:15 pm the other night, asking if he could go out to get two teacher appreciation cards for his National Honor Society obligation (due by 7am of course!!). I've been told I have an entire craft store in my basement, and you should have seen the look on his face when I told him he had to go downstairs and make them instead!  Now, my children are expected to stamp cards for me twice a year- my birthday and mother's day.  After all, stamping and Stampin' UP! took them to Alaska, the Western Caribbean and through the Panama Canal not so very long ago...and I'm proud to say that my boys are pretty good about layering, using a paper trimmer, and choosing any color of ink but black for that one floral stamp <wink>...but Jake had no desire to do that for the teachers!  So I laughed, and explained he could do it on the computer with MDS of course!

We quickly found the file I had used with his school colors and mascot and he altered it a bit and printed them out.  As he glued them to a white card, I told him I'd just saved him $10!!!  He agreed, and decided his cards were actually better than anything he could have found at the store!  Wow!! And here are his cards.  So I say, if a 17 year old boy can, so can you!!  Give MDS a try today.

In addition, lately my volunteering for the high school has been as a "treat maker" for the kids in the advanced program both my sons are in.  Anyway, a little tweaking of my MDS files (I just keep hitting "insert duplicate page" and create my next project and keep them all as parts of the same file.  Last night, I created these covered Hershey bars.  I used one quarter sheet of copy paper for each one, and glued the "labels" I printed 8 at a time.  Quick, cute, and cheap!!  (and they are for teens, who really could care less...they just want the chocolate!)

Even more mosaic madness...

I just love the matching mosaic punch and embossing folder, they just makes it all so easy to come together. And what do I do with the leftovers?  I put them in the box for my next stamping session, and put the box back on the wall in my new IKEA DVD storage shelves. Wait until you see the new boxes you'll be able to purchase for your wooden stamps and other accessories.  They will all line up and store neatly together! Yay!!

DVD Shelf from IKEA:  $6.99 and a perfect fit!

This is my favorite card so far. I copied it from Pinterest and used Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush with lots and lot of bling!

More mosaic madness

Clean and simple.  I'd be lost without my word window and label punches and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set!! Here are Pistachio pudding and Rich razzleberry:

Mosaic madness

I know I have not shared my regionals swaps yet (coming next week!), but with this fun new stamp set and the bright new colors arriving on my doorstep I've been a little distracted. Here's a sneak peak from the new catalog that begins on June 1st.  Contact me today if you'd like a copy of it!

Here are some things I've been playing with just to get the stamps out of the box.

Strawberry slush and coastal cabana:  (new dsp to match!)

For this one, I went to my color coach cards.  I wouldn't normally have chosen these colors, in fact, I never choose Tangerine Tango for anything. But it looks great might not be able to see the glitter on both of these cards..glitter is the still the cheapest way to bling!

Daffodil Delight, Concord Crush and Tangerine Tango:

Check back tomorrow to see my mother's day cards.  (I don't want my mom peaking!).

New in Colors

I received my new catalog yesterday, and am very excited, especially about the new colors. They seem so fresh compared to what we had. It's very hard to photograph exactly what they look like... So I will try to describe them.

Baked brown sugar: a sweet, buttery brown
Crisp cantaloupe: a dark peach (a little too orange for flesh tone)
Coastal cabana: my favorite. Bright robin egg blue
Strawberry slush: think glee and slushies. More red than regal rose, more muted than melon mambo
Pistachio pudding: not as yellow as certainly celery, and lighter. Soft, dusty green

Birthday cards

I have two birthday cards to share on this beautiful May morning.  First up, is a card I just made for a good friend whose daughters dance with mine.  We spend a lot of time together every week so I wanted her card to be special.  I used the Everyday enchantment designer series paper and a simple flower punch. Any circular greeting looks cute with a little flower and pearl in the center.

Next up is a card that my daughter made for her cousin. They share the same birthday.  The blue card was a swap I received at the SU Regional in April. Isn't it sweet? And just so simple. Well, my daughter saw the bag of swaps sitting on the stamp table and decided to "copy" the one on top. She's such a natural at this, ha ha!! The pink one is what she came up with- all on her own.  She did a great job and even cleaned up after herself :)

Have a great day!!
